A pair of 12-bore 1878 patent push-forward underlever triggerplate-action lever-cocking snap-action sideplated hammerless guns with 29” nitro reproved fine damascus barrels, ribs finely engraved ‘JOSEPH LANG & SONS. 22 COCKSURE STREET, PALL MALL, LONDON.’ and ‘1’ and ‘2’.  2 1/2” chambers bore approx. 3/4 and full choke (No 1) and 1/4 and 1/2 choke (No 2).  Lang patent triggerplate actions with removable striker discs, carved serpentine fences, Lang patent automatic safety levers.  Gold-inlaid ‘SAFE’ details, push-forward underlevers, actions, sideplates and furniture profusely engraved with fine scroll and filiciform motifs, retaining very slight traces of original colour-hardening.  14 1/4’ figured stocks with engraved steel heel and toe plates, in their brass-cornered oak and leather case.
