A Cancer Survivor's Story
My name is Sandi, and I am a cancer survivor. Several months ago I began to use the shower soap, salt scrub and facial oil from Essence of Honey. The chemo and radiation treatments caused my skin to become so sensitive I have not used soaps in four years. "Off the shelf" soaps made skin dry and I also developed large, dark dry spots on my face, back and stomach area. I had also begun to get eczema on the back side of my upper arms, especially on the arm side of the mastectomy. My dermatologist suggested I not use soap and instead use good oils or simply water with a white nubby wash cloth. Following doctor’s orders, I still had minimal success.
Anne Ondrusek, the founder of Essence of Honey, told me about the all-natural products using essential oils and asked me to give them a try.
The first thing I used was the facial oil to treat my dry skin condition. Immediately my skin felt softer and left no oil residue. Every morning and night after washing my face with water only, I applied the facial oil. Today the dry spots are almost gone, a mole near my ear is gone, and my facial skin is soft, once again. I knew immediately that I had to try all of her products!
Then I tried the shower elixir to cleanse face and entire body when I shower, and the results have been great. Most all the dry spots are gone and the ones that are still visible or becoming smooth to the touch and disappearing as well. My eczema is completely gone! The shower soap is a tremendous cleanser that does not dry the skin which, as we all know causes the skin to age and begin to look like 'alligator’ skin.
I keep the Sea Salt scrub in the shower and use it every 3-4 days. This is the best exfoliate I have ever used. I also gently use a slight amount it on those ugly spots on my face. My skin is beginning to feel like my skin of my younger years!
The results are so much more than I ever expected. Even better, they’re not exotically priced. Since you only need to apply a little at a time, mine last anywhere from 8-12 weeks. Using them in combination has helped bring my skin back to life!
I’m in my sixties and I’m telling you it’s never too late to start protecting and healing your skin. I believe my skin has received a reward for enduring sun exposure earlier in my life, and most recently the damaging effects chemo and the radiation. I cannot wait for my oncologist and my dermatologist to see my new soft and much clearer skin! Even my husband is can see the difference.
With much appreciation,
Sandi Wade-Janik
